Ludgershall castle

Ludgershall castle
Sunday 7th December 2008
On a very chilly Sunday evening, Phoenix and Twilight Shadows decided to visit an out door location that we have been meaning to do all year but could not because of the poor weather.
Extensive earthworks remain from a 12th century castle along with one of the wall towers. It was used for a time as a royal hunting lodge for Henry III , but fell into decay after the 15th century.
We arrived at the location at around 9ish in the evening and after a short walk down a road we entered a field and almost immediately after we turned a corner we were greeted by this amazing site of the ruin standing silent in the frosty moonlight. It really was a beautiful sight with the fog gently rolling in over the white frosty fields that surround the castle ruin.
We walked around the remains of the castle and listened to Maria recounting the experiences they witnessed the last time they visited the castle. I climbed up onto a part of the bank that circles the castle and started to take pictures. The ruin really did have a lovely ambience about it and the atmosphere was not at all spooky despite the erie landscape and was in fact very welcoming.
While we were talking Maria said she heard a strange like buzzing noise in her ear but no one else experienced this while we were there. At one point, we were all huddled around in a group (it was bitterly cold) and I started talking about my other passion which is horses. Almost straight away the atmosphere changed and the sensitives in the team said they felt we were being listened too. I didn't think this too outrages an idea as the castle was originally a hunting lodge and horses would of been kept at the castle. Maybe I caught a stable hands attention with my topic of conversation.
As it was very cold we did not stay long. Not much happened as in paranormal but it was a lovely evening and this is a place I will really want to go back too in the summer when the weather a little warmer.
I would like to thank Maria for showing us this lovely location and also the members of my team who were very brave to venture out in the cold and also agree to come out on a Sunday evening.
