After a break over the summer, (did I say summer? I meant that 3 month long rain storm we had!) The quest for searching out and investigating paranormal phenomena finally resumed.

This investigation took both Wessex and Phoenix paranormal teams to the Beautiful and very atmospheric secret location

We arrived at the secret location at around 8pm and commenced the investigation in the cellar room now used as a function room. After we took pictures and readings, the lights dimmed the lights and the first round of our investigation began.

I sat in one part of the room, just opposite the entrance door and some of the others went to sit at the far side of the room. It was noticed that this room seemed to of once been 2 rooms and it is without a doubt that each opposite end had completely different feelings to them. I felt quite relaxed and at ease in my seat at my end of the room. As I sat in the darkness I concentrated on opening my senses, I could slightly detect a very pleasant sweet spicy smell that reminded me of the festive season. I did not feel uneasy or threatened in part of the room. Some of the others had commented on how the atmosphere at their end of the room had changed. I moved down to that end and almost straight away I could feel the difference. This end felt dark and damp. As I concentrated again on opening up my senses the smell that I could detect was almost bitter/sweet, like that distinctive smell that indicates a dead animal is nearby. I was secretly glad that a team member was down that part of the room with me. I also got the feeling that the part of the floor to the right of me gave me the impression it should had steps leading down to a lower floor. I commented on this to the others.

After about 40 minutes we decided to relocate to another room called the Coach room.

Previously Wessex had experienced some very strange phenomena in this room as with regards to EMF readings. As this was Phoenix's first visit I was very eager to go into this room. We entered the room and I was shocked at how small but welcoming the room felt. It's main feature was this beautiful ornate wooden bed in the centre and straight away I was aware that Wessex were getting Immediate High EMF readings. The readings seemed to centre around this amazing bed and the peak of the reading seemed to be about 2 foot off of the floor with a dead zone just below and the readings would rise again close to the floor. The readings would slowly tail off the higher to the ceiling you went. I checked under the bed to see if there was any major electrical cables present but there was not. We also checked for an electric blanket which came up blank also. I did comment that the air conditioning unit would of been directly below us in the room we had just left and the EMF readings could have something to do with that. One of the members of Wessex decided to go and ask for the electricity in the room below to be switched off and we carried on in the Coach room. Apparently the EMF pitch would change in scale when asked in a previous investigation that Wessex had conducted here so we decided to try this again. Unbelievably the pitched changed almost straight away. This continued to happen when requested and at this point we were rejoined by our absent team member of Wessex Paranormal. He asked if the EMF readings had changed but we could honestly say they had not. After also trying to call out and see if we could encourage any audible activity we decided to relocate to the Abbots room.

To get to the abbots room you have to go out to the court yard and up some steps that take you to a sort of balcony walk way. Nearly all members of the team experienced slight disorientation after climbing the steps and reaching the wooden walkway, myself included.

This room again had the most amazing bed situated in the middle of it. It had to be one of the biggest beds I had ever seen. One of the team members of Wessex was particularly eager to re-visit this room as they had, had quite a distinct paranormal experience in this room previously. I had no idea what this was when we entered the room but I noticed that 2 members or Wessex were looking at me in a furtive way when I chose to sit in this big ugly leather chair in the far corner of the room. One member decided to try their divining rods and this clearly showed an energy line running from North to south right through the room. After pictures and data was recorded we turned out the lights. One of the members of Wessex that is a psychic medium decided to share some information he felt would be relevant to this room. It was after this that I learned that the member who was very anxious to revisit this room had been sat in what they thought was my chair and almost straight away was poked and heard a loud voice say "No"! This was before they had even started the investigation in that room. We then discovered that the said chair was not my chair but in fact the chair that another member was sat in and the room had actually been moved around so I had the honour of being kicked out of my chair and being made to sit in the other one. I did not feel or hear anything on this occasion (apart from one of Wessex's members tummy growling to order every minute) and although this was a beautiful room, I did not feel entirely comfortable in in.

Again after around 40 minutes in this room we decided to relocate to the Monmouth room. This was situated inside the main building and up a spiral stairway. This was most definitely the grandest bedroom of the lot with a very distinct slope North which I would imagine would be very disorientating in the dark. I noticed that 2 of Wessex were very interested in a picture on the far side of the room. Apparently they had just got an unusual reading from it momentarily but could not recreate this. We again took pictures and data readings and then turned out the lights. I sat on the far side of the bed while Wessex positioned themselves in other various areas of the room. Wessex members each took it in turns to call out and try to encourage auditory phenomena. It was after about half an hour I started to get this cold like sensation I sometimes experience which seems to happened before anything may happen. I encouraged Wessex to keep calling out and it was at this point one member of the team felt like someone had touched them on the head. I also noticed that the area around me was getting very cold. This was confirmed by the thermal imaging device being used.

It was at this point we decided to call it a day. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening and would like to thank Wessex Paranormal Research Organisation for inviting me along to this amazing location and look forward to our return in the near future.
