21st Century Antics Last Shout

Saturday 20th August 2016

For our newest investigation, we had the privilege to visit the brilliant 21st century Antics for the very last time, before it is sold.

This is a location that the team have visited on a number of occasions which has resulted in very impressive results every time. I have a soft spot for this place and I will be very sorry to see it go.

We were also very lucky to have access to both floors. Previously, we have only been able to investigate the ground floor. I was very excited about this as during a pre-walk about the property; I got some very promising vibes from the top floor. A few of the team members also mentioned that they did not like the atmosphere upstairs. It is interesting to note that Pete, (our team medium) was drawn to an umbrella stand and a walking stick, (propped up in the stand) during his walk around which was also located upstairs.

For our first experiment, we assembled around a large, round dining table in a back room on the ground floor. Andrew (initially), Dan and Matt sat out of the circle, (while filming and taking readings). We all concentrated while Maria proceeded to call out and attempt to build some energy. Ben (who is connected to the property), had several different devices on the table. One of these devices measures temperature. This device started to register a rise in temperature which we all agreed could be due to the amount of people in the room. However, the device did settle for some time on the figures 66.6. Probably a coincidence, but certainly did spark a bit of debate at the time.

We did experience a few taps, sometimes at times which appeared to be responses to our questions. However, the energy was very weak. I suggested that I go and get the walking stick which Pete was drawn too on his walk around earlier. Everybody agreed that this was a good idea. I went up to get the stick and Maria accompanied me. We brought the stick back down to the group and I placed the stick on the table. Pete had picked up (psychically) that the stick belonged to a rather grumpy old man that he felt was called Eric. At first Pete felt he was a nasty piece of work, (who was one for the ladies), however, as the evening went on, Pete’s impression of this character changed and he felt that he wasn’t as bad as Eric tried to imply and was just a rather lonely old guy who started to warm towards us as the evening went on. The energy did start to build and the tapping did become stronger. We did experience the table lift on one side while we were talking to Eric, and Pete felt that Eric was drawn towards one of the ladies around the table. He felt that one of us reminded us of his wife. By now, Kenzie (who was a guest with Ben), had grown in confidence and had started to get involved in asking questions to the spirit. She asked if Eric could knock in front of the person who reminded him of his wife. A knock was heard in front of Lesley. We asked the spirit to tap once if it was Lesley who reminded him of his wife and we heard a very loud knock. This scared Lesley a little. The energy was a lot better than at the start of the experiment, so Pete suggested that he allowed the spirit to imprint on him. (This is where a spirit can project onto the subject, their face, in effect, altering the person’s features to represent their own.) We all concentrated on Pete’s face, but nobody saw any changes.

Pete had also picked up on an Entity/demon present also. He stressed that we shouldn’t be worried as he was using the word demon very loosely. This was a non-descript energy of no gender. He attempted to allow this energy to come through. For a moment, I did see Pete’s face become more full and he appeared bald. This was only visible for a moment however. Pete said he could see what this spirit looked like in his mind’s eye. I asked if the spirit had a full face, Pete said yes and also went on to describe a bald man. We think this may have been Eric. We started to experience the sound of scratching under the table. We asked for the spirit to repeat this and we all heard distinct scratching (like fingernails down a blackboard) underneath the table.

We concentrated back on the table and asked Eric to step away and invited energy in. Maria took the walking stick off of the table and placed it on the back of her chair. Quite quickly we started to experience a sound, again like nails but not scratching. It sounded light like long nails tapping on the table surface. Pete picked up that this was a female energy. He described the energy as nice. Just before he exclaimed that her name began with M, I had a name flash up in my mind which was Marion. I actually vocally expressed my surprise at this. Pete felt that Marian was about 30 years old when she died. He felt that she either lost her life on the stairs either by falling or by hanging herself. He felt that she had lost a child, (to cot death) and that there was another energy connected to her which would have been a nanny figure to the child that had died. During this session, quite a few of us heard a noise which some interpreted as a female voice, some thought sounded like a cat and one person assumed that it was somebodies tummy.

It was here we decided to do something different. Because the energy was so strong, we decided to stand up and take our hands away from the table. We then asked out for the spirit to do something and we heard a loud knock. This freaked Ben out a lot… The table then jumped up! We heard a few more taps and then the activity ceased. While discussing the phenomena, Maria came up with the description of how a battery discharges.

At this point, we decided to have a break.

After our break, we decided to take our experiment upstairs. We assembled around another rather large round dining table, however, this time I sat out of the circle (filming), as did Andrew. Netty also sat out of the circle as did Dan. This table wasn’t very stable so did creak quite easily. This was something we all noted. Quite quickly energy built up again and we experienced a lot of tapping noises like finger nails tapping (as in Marion’s case downstairs). Kenzie asked if this was Marion. We heard a very distinct knock in response to Kenzie’s question. The activity around this table experiment was very strong. I felt like somebody was stood behind me. I turned my camera towards the doorway and Maria noticed that I had shifted my focus. I didn’t catch anything on film but I did feel very uncomfortable. We experienced very loud knocks and the table shifted position quite a few times. Pete sensed that the entity energy was close by and invited it to interact with us. A few of the team thought they heard a noise coming from the back of the room. Maria asked Dan if he had said anything. He hadn’t. I then thought I heard a noise coming from the direction of where Andrew was standing. (I will review this on the tapes later on). It was noted that the room felt as it if was getting colder, however, the temperature was registering as being stable. Everyone decided to try taking their hands off the table again. To our amazement the table shifted without anybody touching it. I do have this on film; however it was very hard to the entire room in shot. I hope a person reviewing the footage doesn’t think that someone out of shot was responsible for the activity. Ben, who is very sceptical, was totally blown away by this new development. We had just experienced (twice) poltergeist activity. It was all very exciting.

We had to close down the experiments at this point as we had sadly run out of time. What an amazing experience to call our last every investigation at 21st Century Antics.

I would like to thank Ben for allowing us one last shot in this totally amazing location and our amazing team for making the evening so special.
