The Fat Fowl

On 10th July 2010 Phoenix of Wessex revisited The Fat Fowl Restaurant in Bradford on avon at the request of the restaurants Owners.

We arrived on a very hot and stuffy Saturday evening and were shown upstairs to begin our investigation whilst the down stairs restaurant wound down for the day. After we were served with some refreshing drinks we sat around in the upstairs part of the building having a general chat which I find sometimes helps to tune you into the surroundings. Whilst we were chatting Pete and Chris said that they heard footsteps behind them and though they came from the area just before an open cupboard which was by the stairwell. Pete said that he felt they would of come from a female or child.

During our chat, Dave was giving a little bit of history of the building we were in. It was originally part of the post office. Sharon said that she got the impression that it would have been some sort of warehouse and I said that it would of probably been the sorting office part of the post office and lots of items would have been stored there. Chris confirmed he also felt that this part of the building would have been the sorting office.

Pete said that he had become aware of a male presence which peeped up at us from the stairs leading to the kitchen. He said he was bald and wearing glasses and a white shirt. Dave and Chris said they were drawn to the stairwell area and it was this part of the room where footsteps were heard again whilst we were talking.

When the restaurant had closed, we were left in the building alone to conduct the rest of our investigation. We first of all decided to set up a séance in the area of the upstairs room where the footsteps were heard. I first decided to attempt a glass divination experiment and this was inconclusive for the first attempt. I then decided to try getting the energy going by placing our hands on the edge of the table instead of the glass. This quickly led to what we believe to be spirit tapping under the table to answer our questions. This spirit began by telling us that it was attached to the owner of the restaurant and was a relative. Myself and Chris felt that this was not the case and when we tried again with the glass and the glass got moving we all became convinced that this may have been just a travelling spirit that was not attached to the building. During this séance we heard music and a few piano notes were heard. We are not sure if this came from the piano in the room or the piano outside but when we checked out of the window we could not see anyone in the immediate vicinity.

We decided to take the investigation down stair and as I have been briefed before that there is activity in the kitchen, we set up a glass devination experiment in the kitchen. Unfortunately because there is a lot of back ground noise in the kitchen, we didn’t get any results from this experiment.

We all felt that the restaurant was not experiencing an paranormally active period and none of the mediums felt that there was any presences with us at this time. As it was getting very late we decided to call it a night.
